Open Dental

OpenDental, the open source dental practice management system pioneered by Dr. Jordan Sparks is in our humble opinion the most versatile, extensible and comprehensive solution available. Most recent versions are enterprise ready and EHR certified. The cost of acquisition is an order of magnitude less than that of comparable competitors, and even maintenance fees are less with OpenDental.

We have integrated OpenDental with everything from statistical and financial reporting engines to a phone system which makes automated appointment confirmation calls, updating OpenDental with the patient’s response. While the client must run on windows since version 3, the server may be any platform you can get a MySQL server and windows share to preform on.

For those familiar with the buzzwords marketers use, OpenDental is Cloud Compatible®, Datacenter Ready®, Agile, Cyber Secure®, and may be offered online as SaaS. While there is no Web® version available, the Open nature of the project makes it possible for any team to take on the the task of creating one without fear of litigation or lack of interest from the community.
